The Laboratory for Software Design is hiring one or more postdoctoral fellows in the Department of Computer Science at Tulane University, with a start as early as Fall 2026.
The fellow will work with Dr. Hridesh Rajan and the lab on software engineering and programming languages techniques for AI-enabled systems. Our recent work, collected at lab-design.github.io/papers, spans modular deep learning that breaks large neural networks into independently verifiable units, specification languages that bring design-by-contract ideas to model training and inference, automated fault localization that pinpoints faulty layers or data, mock deep testing that speeds up test oracles, and repair methods that improve fairness and robustness without giving up accuracy. The thread connecting all of it is a single goal: make data-driven software dependable.
We welcome candidates with a PhD in computer science or a closely related field and a strong record of publications, with preference for work published at ICSE or FSE.
